I've been looking for solutions for a school with 50+ Macs that Apple has abandoned and which require newer software (the school has major issues such as the new iWork incompatibility with older iWork packages, lack of security updates and increasing inability to run the latest Mac software). Since Apple can no longer supply the school with updates to maintain compatibility with newer software, and since the school can by no means afford to upgrade more than a few of the systems they had me begin researching alternative solutions (cheap machines that will be used almost solely for google docs, for example). The few administrators and board members that were upgraded this year to newer Macs are also so disappointed with Lion/ML/Mavericks that they had already begun thinking of moving away from Apple.
