Temple Run 2 is the second installment of the mega-hit Temple Run. It was created by Imangi. Play their legendary endless runner games Temple Run 2: Holi Festival, Temple Run 2: Frozen Shadows, and Temple Run 2: Jungle Fall on Poki!

No. As the game is an endless running game, there is no end to the temple; the player plays until the character collides into a large obstacle, falls into the water, or is overtaken by the demon monkeys.

Imangi Studios, in conjunction with its licensing agency Dimensional Branding Group (DBG), announced several licensing partnerships in 2012 for Temple Run, including apparel with JEM Sportswear, digital comics exploring the back story of the game with Ape Entertainment, card and board games with Spin Master, arcade machines with Coastal Amusements and sleepwear with Komar.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the game, and the 100 million downloads milestone, all mobile titles released prior to Temple Run by Imangi Studios will be available for free to download for a limited time. Additionally, a new iOS update is now available for Temple Run, which adds retina graphics for the iPad, more achievements, and the ability to enable or disable specific powerups.

About Imangi StudiosImangi Studios was founded by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova in 2008. With the addition of artist Kiril Tchangov in 2009, the three-person studio has developed mega-hit Temple Run, which has been downloaded over 100 million times since its release in August 2011. Based in Washington, D.C., the self-funded, fully independent studio previously developed Harbor Master, geoSpark, Hippo High Dive and Max Adventure for iOS.

You need to be fast on your feet if you want to have any hope of getting out of this temple in one piece. Luckily, you don't need to actually use your feet to survive Temple Run 2; you just need some fast-acting fingers.

Running through the temple is a lot like a race, except if you lose, then you die. That alone should give you enough incentive to keep on running. Just in case it isn't, then make it your mission to nab all the pick-me-ups you find along the way. More often than not, they will determine how much of you will be left once you get out of this crumbling primate house.

If popular media has taught us one thing about archeology, it's that it's the field you go into if you want to lead a life of non-stop thrill rides. Ancient civilizations clearly had nothing better to do than to rig their temples up with traps and fill them with monsters, so of course going into them is always going to be an adventure. Such was the case with Imangi Studios' Temple Run, an endless runner where you guided one hapless adventurer through the pathways of a ruined temple while a horde of angry monkeys constantly nipped at his heels. On its own, it was a fine game that helped to popularize the genre, but it was admittedly a little rough around the edges. Fortunately, the developers listened to what its many fans had to say, and thus aimed to make the sequel one of the most solid mobile games around.

The first notable improvement between Temple Run 1 and 2 are the graphics. While the first game was by no means ugly, it felt a tad generic and gloomy, particularly since it took place in a temple in the middle of a dreary swamp. Such is not the case with Temple Run 2. Not only has the graphical fidelity gotten better with sharper textures and better animations for the characters, especially on the part of the demonic apes that chase you, but the art direction is in general a lot more inspired. The app's default temple, Sky Summit, is a fantastical area that's bright, colorful and rife with ornate carvings on its floors, collapsed rooftops and railings.

More than that, the environment constantly changes; you'll be running on solid ground one moment, rolling through a dusty cavern the next, and sliding down some rapids that show off the app's stunning water effects. The world honestly feels alive at times; a path might look clear before a tree suddenly falls down on it and forces you to take action. That's just one level. Frozen Shadows is another great-looking world that depicts a temple in a frozen wasteland complete with ice caverns, cold rivers, pine forests and oversized animal skulls. Each world has a personality of its own, which makes playing through them all a hoot.

Temple Run 2 debuted in Apple's App store on January 17 and quickly became the top free app with more than 6 million downloads in less than 24 hours. The game then swung into Google Play and Amazon Marketplace, picking up even more adventurers.

The game studio has cut deals for Temple Run clothes, digital comics, and card and board games. Last June, Imangi teamped up with Pixar to create Temple Run: Brave, which combines the action in Temple Run with characters from the Pixar film "Brave."

There are around half a million games on the Google Play Store, translating into billions of downloads. The game genres range from simple, light-hearted experiences to profound, story-driven feats that keep you entertained on the go. But which are the most popular?

Subway Surfers is one of Android's top infinite runner games with super vibrant graphics. In this game, you play a character running away from an inspector and his dog after he catches you tagging the subway with graffiti. As you run on the tracks, you must dodge obstacles and collect coins, among other items, to help you escape.

The game offers you various mini-games and activities you can play with Tom to pass the time. Some of these mini-games can be challenging, but they come in handy to help you keep Tom happy and healthy. Looking at the download stats, My Talking Tom has proven to be a great, fun, and engaging game, no matter your age.

Supercell's Clash of Clans is one of the highest grossing Android games and offers engaging and immersive gameplay to get you hooked from the word go. In the game, you form community clans, train army troops, and attack other players for resources. Mainly, you can choose your preferred troops, buildings, and defenses, to diversify attacking strategies.

From endless runner games to first-person shooters, Android has hosted popular games that have racked up billions of downloads. It's no surprise that these games have been so successful, considering they are free, with engaging gameplay, amazing graphics, and other enticing features.

From almost the beginning, the temple has you turn in a direction of your choosing, providing a unique set of obstacles that you have to avoid. Take the wrong turn and you might end up becoming alligator fodder time and time again.

Every time I meet with friends and they ask me what games I have on my iPhone, it always plays out the same. They are all enthusiastic about Angry Birds. They check out some of the arcade games I have. Only to end up playing the game I also end up playing no matter how many games I discover on the way. The game that you also probably have on your iPhone. The one and only, Temple Run.

I can't really explain what's so captivating about endless running games. But this I can say: Temple Run was the first game I played on my iPhone. And it's still one of my favorite games. So, what do you do when you really, really like a game? Besides playing it day and night. You try to find other similar games. And that's exactly what I did. The result...let me just tell you this: I'm surprised there's no special Endless Running Games section yet in the AppStore.

First of all, you have the two classic Temple Run games. But although your goal is the same as it is with all the other endless running games (run as much as you can), these two games are already iconic for this category. Because the design is absolutely impeccable. The games offer all sorts of boosts and new characters you don't have to pay a dime for. All you need to do is run and collect as many coins as you can, that you can later use to buy all these things and increase your chance for a high score. Plus, these games are so intuitive, and with such simple, basic rules that you don't need more than a couple of seconds to get hooked.

Then, you have the personalized Temple Run games, like Temple Run: Brave and Temple Run: Oz. Here, the rules stay the same. But you get to control Merida on her run through an old Scottish setting. Or Oz through his beautiful and marvelous land, following the Yellow Brick Road all the way to Emerald City. The boosts are customized to fit the setting, of course. Plus, there are also other new and thrilling features for these games, like the archery challenges and the wisp mode in Temple Run: Brave. Or the Hot-Air Balloon bonus feature in Temple Run: Oz.

And the endless running frenzy doesn't stop here. Quite the contrary. Just take a look in the App Store and you'll find a dozen similar games to Temple Run. However, not all are as good and engaging. But, among the ones we came across, there are at least 5 games worth mentioning.

With a more similar design to Subway Surfers than to Temple Run, Running with Friends is another noteworthy game. The goal is the same, the controls are exactly the same with the ones in Subway Surfers, but Running with Friends is more social than the endless running games we have discussed so far. In this game, you actually run with friends. Unfortunately, not at the same time. But you take turns. There are 3 running rounds per game, and whoever scores the most points at the end of the rounds, wins. As for your opponents, you can compete against your Facebook friends, a particular user, or a random one.
